Musings on Music

Ah, music.  The inventor of the iPod should be sainted and given a special place in the afterlife.   You may think I'm over-exaggerating the role of music in my life, but I'm not.

Example.

I'm in the back office, whipping out a newsletter.  Mailing deadline - oh, yesterday would have been nice.   Someone is on the phone, calling patrons about books.  Someone else is having a conversation with the computer (really, it's not as insane as it sounds.  Maybe it's just a library thing, but it's quite normal.)   Another conversation is going on from Desk A (at the right side of the room)  to Desk B (at the left side of the room).  Chances are, there is a printer or copier running, interspersed with disastrous eating-of-paper sounds.

Wasting a few minutes, drinking a cup of tea and poking around on YouTube, I find a video I'd saved earlier this month.

12/12/09 Mark Ingram Wins the 2009 Heisman Trophy

If you follow college football at all, you probably know that Mark Ingram plays for Alabama. Also, you probably know that the one award that's always been missing from Alabama's storied football history* is the Heisman Trophy, until this year.

*I should mention, I'm a Crimson Tide fan. If you follow my blog at all in the next days/weeks/months, etc, you may hear a lot about Alabama. You've been warned.  Please proceed...

Welcome!

Well, the first post is always the hardest, I suppose. An introduction, a hello to the world.

I talk to myself a lot. Usually, I manage not to do this aloud. However, this means I talk to myself in my head quite a lot. Often these conversations are rather interesting. If I do say so myself, I make some rather good points.

So, I thought I'd see what happened if I talked to the computer instead only to myself for a while. I invite you to join me for the ride!
